The Ministry of Housing and the Environment replaced the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education as the Institute’s line ministry from July, 2011.

Membership of the Board of Governors is as follows: Prof. Indar Ramnarine (Chairman), Shaffiath Khan (Deputy Chairman), Reeza Mohammed, Newton George, Edward Kacal, Wayne Simon Rajkumar, Wanti Chadee and Garth Ottley. The current Board will serve until 2013.
